HDD installation and file change over

I intend to add another HDD to my Machine, I am at present running 98SE and the new drive would use XP.

I would like to have 3 partitions on my new drive and set it up initially to run fat32, as all my files are fat32, once the new drive is up and running I would like to have XP on one partition then transfer all my personal files onto another of the partitions and then eventually remove my old HDD.

I would like to know, in detail as I'm not very experienced with computers, how to do it. Do I set my new drive to master and the old to slave or what??
