Ok so plugged my harddrive the wrong way round (power) stupid me. And since then not working.
Sent it to Bactrack Data Recovery and they said that the disc does not spin up to its full speed. so they want me to send to a mechanical specialist.
MY question is, since i cant afford 300-400 pounds. I only need about 1 gb of data to be recovered isnt there a service who only charge by the MB or GB? or
can some one point me out to the cheapest solution.

Data recovery is always expensive as to do it correctly requires it to done in a clean room

Sorry to hear about your problem but how did you manage to connect the power lead the wrong way round? as a rule it just wouldn't fit.

i wasnt looking at the power lead and forced it in. But It did occur in the back of my head - why it was so tight but didnt realise it at that moment.
Dunno how am gonna afford that much!!
