HD noise

I have a computer from Fujitsu Siemens, It's about 2years old and whenever the HD is accessed it makes a sort of gurgling noise. As this has always made this noise I thought it was normal but someone suggested it was not.Any thoughts?.

Some hard drive are noisy, some are quiet. As long as it isn't a rough scratchy sound it's probably nothing to worry about. My own HD is noisy, I can hear it, and I'm deaf.

as barry siad, it is very common for hard drives to make a gurgling sound (especially older ones). the sound is being made by the rotating disk and the head that reads it

Thanks guys
I am thinking of upgrading to windows ME and I didn't want to waste my money on a duff hd.
