Have I been compromised - proplems with NIS

I've started having major problems with Norton Internet Security 2005 and wonder whether I have been hacked.

After working with no problem for months, Norton now randomly blocks either access to my e-mail or access to the web.

I can only access them when the problems start by turning off my firwall - and therefore leaving me wide open to attack/intrusion.

So I'm wondering whther I've been hacked - especially as I have had some messages from Norton saying that it has blocked attempts to hack my computer.

So what can I do to determine whether I've been a victim of an attack and, if I have, is there anything I can do to stop it?

Cheers,

you have been a victim of Norton. No one has hacked you.
