Hi, after my drive failure I put in a backup SATA drive & Acronis Home 10.

I used fdisk to prepare the new drive & then changed it over from FAT32 to NTFS in Windows XP. I then used Acronis to create the secure backup zone in the new drive, theres 4gb space left & thats all thats now displayed in my computer, the backup zone is hidden away somewhere.

Please advise if the following is ok, when I do an incremental back up the secure zone appears as FAT32! The leftover 4gb is there as NTFS & the drive Im backing up is also NTFS. As I mentioned I converted this new drive From FAT32 when I installed it so why is it coming up FAT32 now & will I be able to load the backup via recovery manager if everything goes pearshaped again?

I hope its just something to do with Acronis & its as it should be, please advise if you have any info regarding this, many thanks.

NTFS can see Fat32. but it does not work the other way round. A system setup as Fat32 cannot read NTFS

You should not have any problems

Acronis Secure Zone works only in FAT 32 - It will be fine.
