Have AOL blocked BTInternet e-mail??

  MIke 20:33 14 Sep 03

I'm getting e-mails bounced back to me by AOL, when I send them via my BTInternet account. From what I can make from the bounce message they have blocked the entire domain.

The information presently available to AOL indicates this
554-server is generating high volumes of member complaints from AOL's
554-member base. Based on AOL's Unsolicited Bulk E-mail policy at
554-click here AOL may not accept further
554-e-mail transactions from this server or domain.

Anyone else having problems with mail to AOL addresses???

Yep! there have been several post regarding this subject over the past week. It's very frustrating, but AOL are treating bulk mail from other ISP's a "Spam" Regards. j.

I have heard before that other isp's etc have blocked bt's email servers due to high volumes of virus's and the like being sent from them. Apparently it is relatively easy for certain people to access the servers, although I don't know where I heard this from!

Thanks for that DJohn

I've been out of the Country for a few days so have missed the threads, strange thing I sent an e-mail last night to an AOL member but that wasn't bounced back, only my reply to their reply to my original message!!

A bit unfair seeing as how I get Spam from AOL adresses!!

  Djohn 20:55 14 Sep 03

AOL have a "Spam" button, right next to the Delete button in the e-mail window. I have pressed on that a couple of times by mistake, [Did it a couple of times with mail from AOL themselves] They have now got used to me contacting them to undo the blocking! :o(

The majority of the most revolting of the porn spam I get is from AOL addresses.

Even if the address is spoofed or otherwise unreal, AOL really ought to do something about it, considering their attitudes in regard to blocking other ISPs.

I am with BT Broadband and I posted a thread a few days ago about people with AOL not receiving emails from me - including plain messages with no attachments. click here

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
