Hi there. I have an Epsom C46 printer. usb connection. Last night it started to print then there was a loud knocking noise and the carriage was in one place sort of jumping. took ages to switch off. When I tried turning it on it started again. Carriage is not actually jammed as at one point it moved across to the left on the track.
Have left it alone this morning awaiting any forthcoming help :)
Thanks Jay

Hmm, not heard of this one before, so can only guess, that perhaps the carriage/track has become slightly damaged - age and amount of use alone, could cause this. If the printer is a year or more old, I would say a new printer would be the order of the day.

If you have still not tried it yet this morning, give it a try now, look closely and see if you can notice anything unusual.

you could try the procedure for changing the ink cartridges. One of them could have slightly moved out of alignment. Remove them and then put them back in.

Thanks guys. Hubby came home from the shops having seen a half price printer scanner in Argos. Epson sx100 for £30 so I now have a new one :}

Grreat, solves that little problem then. Also in Tesco at the same price.

Cheers.
