...in the browser? Ive just read a web page which was very informative in speeding up FireFox. I changed a few settings by typing "about:config in the browser.

However, one on the suggestions to speed up the browser was to find "browser. turbo" which i cant find.

Could the setting be under another guise??? Any ideas???

Copied some time ago from a link on this site:

Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.

Enter network.http in the filter field. Now make the following changes:
In the field of 'Preference Name' choices (click on the thumbnail at right to see the screen), double-click network.http.pipelining to set it to 'true'.

Next, double-click network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to bring up the 'Enter integer value' dialog box. Enter a higher number than the default 4; 15 works for me. Press Enter.

Double-click network.http.proxy.pipelining to set it to 'true'.
Right-click anywhere on the page and select New, Integer. Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay and press . Set its value to 0 (zero), and press again.

The browser.turbo.enabled entry was in older versions of firefox from years ago.

Open about:config, right click and choose New > Boolean, then enter browser.tubo.enabled and set it to True.

Thanks all, and MAJ that worked a treat...thanks.

Before I go, does anyone know how to set FireFox to start up boot, like explorer does.

I got a string from a website to add to target, but it doesn't allow it.

Thanks for your suggestion north, but I think it is possible to do it without software, and this HD is a bit full.

Thanks all the same and will install unless someone can/knows how to run FireFox on start up.
