I have just installed a new harddrive and wanted to formated both my harddrives to make the computer feel like new. My old set up was

A:\ Floppy
C:\ 'Main' Harddrive Containing windows and all programs etc
D:\ 'Documents' Harddrive
E:\ CD-RW drive

I have just formatted my documents drive and it now appears in this order;

A:\ Floppy
C:\ 'Main' (windows)
D:\ CD-RW Drive
F:\ 'Documents Harddrive

I want it to appear in the original manor. how can i make the pc label drive D:\ as My Documents again rather than it detecting the drive as drive F:\.

Its something small but drives me nuts as i like organisation...

if you have windows xp click:

start/control panel/administrative tools/computer management

click: disk management

right click your drives and click:

"change drive letter and paths"

under "assign the following drive letter" set as you wish.note you cannoy remane the C: drive.

click apply and restart.
