I want an external hard drive for my laptop
(Maxtor 7000 hd),Is it worth spending more to get the firewire virsion.Ive got the JAPD900T and I want to edit films.

It will make no differnce that you would notice. Providing you get a USB2 fast drive the speeds are about the same.click here

If you want to transfer movie data (avi or dv) then the firewire is a must. USB can't cope with that type of data transfer.

I bought the firewire caddy from ebuyer for under £20 becsuse you can then load whatever IDEE hard drive you wish, or use as many as you wish. It works a treat and a drive copy to this takes no longer than one to my second internal drive.
