Hard drive replacement-speeds

Is it possible to replace my 5200 speed hard drive with one of 7200 speed??

  DieSse 09:11 10 Oct 05

Yes - no problems of any kind over rotational speed changes.

The parameter that might cause problems is the drive capacity. Your motherboard may have limits on what capacity drive it can operate with. There are solutions to such issues, if you have them.

Can I change the motherboard settings to use a faster hard drive of 7200??

You don't have to. The motherbaord doesn't know or care about the rotational speed of the drive.

DieSse is trying to say that if you have an old computer the BIOS may not recognise drives bigger than 32G or 160G, speed does not matter
