Can some one help i have a second hard drive which has a complete backup on it
It is an internal hard drive and as the family use this computer i was wondering if its possible to stop them from accessing it because i am worried they might wipe it by mistake.
Is there a program e.g. freeware to hide the drive behind a password or similar? can anyone recommend a program?

I guess you could also go into the BIOS and remove the setting for the drive completely - then it won't show up.

Are you trying to hide the whole hard drive or just a partition on it?

to stop access to the whole drive just unplugg itsribon cable until required.

click here "System Security 2002 provides you with features that can prevent unwanted or unauthorized users from gaining access to your system." and it's freeware.

If you have two HDD's one OS and other for backup.
Why not let the family log in as users or power user and restrict access to the backup drive through NTFS.

Simple and no third party software.

And the software Radi8or recommended is pretty cool.
