Hard drive power query

I'm sure this question has been asked before but, a friend of mine wants to set up a second hard drive on his PC in a raid configuration, but he already uses all 4 of the power connectors on his PC for his DVD, CD Writer, DVD recorder and his existing hard drive.
Can he just splice off one of the existing connectors, assumming his power supply has enough juice or would he need to get a power supply with 5 outputs instead of 4.

Yes, he can simply splice off of one of the existing power leads (the lead costs about £1 each for a "one in - two out" lead
