Hard Drive Imminent Failure

I have a Compaq Presario 5000 series model on which I have upgraded the RAM to 384mb and updated the OS from Me to XP Pro. I have also added a second hard drive making the new one the master. I have also added an ethernet card, CDRW and video card. For the past few months when I start up after the Compaq screen a message appears saying that the system detects imminent hard drive failure and gives me 2 choices, F1 to boot or F10 to configure. I press F1 and the system boots up fine. I have tried making the old hard disk the master but get the same message.

Can anyone help or has anyone had the same or similar problem?
