I have a laptop that runs windows 98.
The hard disc has bad sectors on it.

I would like to reformat this drive but it will not allow me to do this. Is there a solution to this or am I stuck with this problem.?

I would like to reformat the system as I would like to remove the rubbish and start again.

you see the memory count on boot up. gently tap F8 continously you should hopefully get the Start up menu. Choose Command Prompt

You need to first make a rescue disc in Add/Remove programs. Also do you have the Windows98 disc and Key on the front of the windows book or CD case
