Hard Drive failure.

My machine is fitted with 2 hard drives.

They could both make a copy of my C drive in about 8 minutes.

Now I am finding my Disk1 is still taking 8 mins but my other Disk2 is taking 60 mins.

My supplier refuses to accept that this is a sign of hard disk future failure. What do you thing.

You could try the testing tools available from the disk manufacturer to get an idea of whether there's a problem with the disk.

Both drives are identical Maxtor 120 gig drives. My experience of Maxtor in the past is they are based in Ireland & do not want to know you unless you post the disk to them at your expence & if they say it is not faulty you have also to pay the return postage. My machine disk2 is running at about a fifth of its usual speed which his useless. Any more help as to is this a sign of future disk failure?
