Hard Drive data recovery

Does anyone know of any cheap or free data recovery software? The only one's I've found so far cost over $100.

I bought a 200gb Maxtor hard drive last week, fitted it as slave and moved all my documents and music onto it and haven't had chance to back up yet.

Last night the drive reported bad sectors, so I ran a complete scan disk and now I whilst I can see the directory structure I can't access any folders.

I would like to be able to recover all the data either from the maxtor drive, or the currently empty partition on my main drive, before I take the drive back for replacement.

TIA

Alan

PC Inspector seems to be the answer. My drive seems to have recovered today, but I've copied the contents across to the spare space on my main drive for now and will run scan disc again.

Thanks
Alan
