Could someone tell me the diference between IDE and ATA. Can I replace an IDE hard drive with a ATA?

Thanks

Russ

I think the 2 are interchangeable new ide hard drives have ata numbers such as 60 or 100 which seems to relate to the speed of read/write actions or something similar
