Hi everyone
About to start my pc build, but a few things i need help before i start.

1)i am re-using my hard drive which is running XP but am going to VISTA, how or do i need to format the hard drive before i start.

2) i have bought a anti-static work mat and wrist strap but they have no instructions, how do i ground them properly.

Any other tips would be great, first build for me.

Thanks for your time

1) set BIOS to boot from CD first boot with VISTA DVD in drive and let Vista format your drive before installing.

2. Connect wrist strap to a suitable earth ie a radiator always place your commponets on the mat not on other surfaces.
I have never used either when building PCs just earth yourself on raditor to get rid of static and keep the components in the antistatic packing until you need them.
