I am getting rid of my home pc in favour of my laptop however can i safely remove my hard drive that has all my files and programs on and then at a later stage using a PCMS IDE toUSB 2 drive 2.5/3.5/5.5 adapter PC/MC transfer all or some of the material to my lappy the only reason I anm doing this is my old PC is on its last legs most of the cards are no longer supported and my Lappy is wifi enabled and also i am going broadband (got a good deal from my ISP provider)

Hi, I would advise you to put your old harddrive into a usb external caddy, you could then simply plug and play, as they say.
