hi i bought a new hard drive for my windows 98 it is an wd hitachi 160.00 gb and it comes up as a 1.99gb but its ment to be 160.00gb what should i do thank you.

you may have to look at what is suported by your mother board and bios. have you formated the the drive.

When you partition the new Hard Drive you have to select FAT32 and not FAT, to enable the larger size. (FAT has a limit of 2Gb.

If you have selected FAT in error, it would be best to delete the partition and then partition it again opting for FAT32 (also known as Large Disk Support).
