i have one 8ogb hard drive with windows xp home on an a 1 gb with win 98 but i cannot get both hard drives to work in the same computer. my 80gb is the only one with the jumpers on the back need to use 98 because some games only work on 98 and not xp

Sounds as though 1Gb is a bit small.

you can install both XP and 98 on the same 80Gb HDD on different partition. There is one guy write a very good instruction about this on this forum, Search multi boot etc to find it.

you could try using compatabillity mode in xp to run older games.

most work using this.

Almost anything can be backed up except some programs whose licence locked to a particular HDD.
