Hard Disk File Problem

  Legslip 09:39 26 Aug 09

I have a laptop running Vista with a 70gb HD. My Computer-C Drive-Properties reports that 43gb of the disk is being used. However when I investigate the folders, the total disk space used is about 30gb of which Windows is using 15gb. Any ideas where the additional 13gb has gone?
Unvestigated because my PC is slowing down.

Have you got a Hidden Recovery Partition?
Look in Admin Tools/ Computer Management/ Disk Management

Thanks rawprawn. I should have been more explicit. The real HD size is 150gb whicj is partitioned into C:70gb - D:70gb and a further 10gb which ststes it is Healthy(EISA) configuration. Is that the recovery partition?

Done some research and found that EISA is the recovery sector. This then does not appear to explain the missing 13gb on my C drive.
