Hard Disk Failed

The hard disk on my home computer has failed. There seems to be a large number of recovery firms - does anyone have any experience of who's good?
Is it possible to copy across all my Windows XP settings and other software to avoid having to do a very lengthy reinstall process?
Thanks very much.

Recovery firms are VERY expensivve - generally for business' and wealthy home users.

Bite the bullet and get re-installing.

Hi, I agree with Yoda Knight - VERY VERY expensive - example £700 plus on a normal home setup that went kaput. Not mine I'm glad to say.
