hard disc wipe

hi every one
as i am selling my comp to my daughter i want to wipe my hard disc what problems will i get do i need to to back up any thing how do i do that she is coming to pick it up sat 10 of dec

The easiest way is probably to format the hard drive and reinstall windows, that way your daughter will also end up with a more stable and responsive PC into the bargain.

Sorry forgot about tha backup part of your question, that is entirely up to you, any files documents or pictures that you need will obviously have to be backed up somewhere, but as I say, only you can decide what you want.

If you are running XP the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard is very good at achieving what you want.
