Hama cardreader

I am trying to a Hama cardreader on my PC which runs Windows XP Home. The cardreader has a USB connection, and is just over 2 years old.

I have downloaded the XP driver from the Hama website, but made the mistake of connecting the cardreader before installing the software. The documentation downloaded with the driver is rather vague, and has lost much in the translation from the German. It tells me "If you plugged in the reader already before installing, it will have to be erased again" and that "Mostly, it is being recognised as unknown USB device and listed in the rubric 'Universal Bus Controller', 'Other devices' or 'Other modules'."

Any suggestions

suggest you delete the driver and then re-install it - then plug in the card reader.

Thanks Salinger

Problem is resolved - the downloaded driver was faulty. I downloaded again - no problems
