i installed half life 2 and it was working fine for about 2 weeks...then it jus stopped working...everytime i open half life 2 it starts to load...and a blue screen pops up with a stop error looking page...saying at the bottom

stop:0x0000008E(0xc0000005, 0xBFA54C340xB9721B4C, 0x0000000)

and then sumthing bout the nv4_disp.dll which led me to beleive it was the drivers fault...so after reinstalling it...and then tryin older veriosion...and deleteing all traces of the dll file it still doesnt work...any help would be great...as this error only happens when i try helf life 2....which is soooo frustrating

Update your motherboard chipset drivers.

Check your graphics card.......make sure the cooling fan is working and that the heatsink is not clogged with dust and fluff.

Check that the graphics card is firmly seated in its socket.

Remove and reseat the RAM modules.

Check all connections to motherboard/hard drive are firmly seated.
