A long while ago, after advice on this Forum, I copied Folder I386 from my WinXP disk to my PC, to save time when using sfc /scannow.

Out of interest,is the file hal.dll within I386

Thanks you both, I was wondering why I got the missing hal.dll message after I had done the scannow, even though I have I386 copied to path C:\I386 and which I have used pretty often over the months??
