Hacktool Rootkit

I've read some of the other queries on this matter, but I just wondered if anyone had the same experience as me and how they got rid of the blighter. My desktop was infected first (message from Norton trojan isolated). I thought it had gone until I tried using Tweak XP. The program refused to launch and another message from Norton popped up. I turned off sys. restore ran a full scan - nothing. I have now downloaded another program that claims to find and remove the blighter. I currently have this machine removed from my network, so I was a little bit miffed when a few moments ago Norton popped the same message on my screen and low and behold I can't launch Tweak XP. Any ideas anyone?
