Gtx8800 Replacement?

It looks like I have a driver problem with my Nvidia card (subject of another post). Assuming a replacement card is the answer would anyone have some suggestions - preferably ATI ? Current card is 786Mb and seems to have two separate power connectors but I suppose technology may have moved on and that isn't a concern anymore ?
Preferably sub £100, limited gaming use.
Thanks

Do you want something similar to the GTX 8800?

Most, if not all, GPUs in the sub-£100 category these days only require a single 6-pin PCIE connector. The last one below (HD 5670) does not require a PCIE connector:

Ones to consider in descendding order of performance are:

£95-100 ATI HD 5770 (1x PCIE) click here / click here

£85 ATI HD 5750 (1x PCIE) click here

£80-84 Nvidia GTS 250 (1x PCIE) click here / click here

£60-65 ATI HD 5670 (0x PCIE) click here / click here

The above 4 GPUs compared to a 9800 GTX (close enough to your 8800 GTX): click here. G

Go for the HD 5770 or if you can get one cheap enough a HD 4890, both excellent cards,

Brilliant. Thanks for your advice guys. I'll let you know how I get on.

I'd go for a HD 5770 instead of a HD 4890 as the latter runs hot, sucks more power & is noisy in comparison. The HD 5770 is also based on newer technology. G

I had a BFG 8800GT OC ,until the video RAM failed, went out and bought a 5770.
I can recommend this card 100%,Resident Evil 5 maxed out looks superb.

Went for the PowerColor 5670 in the end as I'm not a gamer - just waiting for it to arrive. Based on my PC's behaviour and windows messages I think I will need to reinstall Vista anyway so maybe now is the time to get W7. Thanks all for taking the time to advise me.

Once fitted, you should have a quieter & cooler PC :-), G
