grey lines

i have quite a few grey lines on my monitor,could it be my monitor is on its way out, it's over 3 years old

It's one possibility, spriest. Have you checked the monitor's cables, or updated your graphics card's drivers, lately? Also check that the graphics card is seated properly in it's slot.

the easiest way to test if it's the monitor is to try it on another computer.

thanks for your response. my graphics card is also over 3 years and i am thinking of buying a new one,my monitor clicks a lot when i reboot and i often pull out the cable at the back of monitor and put back in and its okay for a while, i don't have another monitor to try.

iv'e bought a new monitor cable and a graphics card and the monitor is fine now, thank's for you help
