Grey background to Epson Smart Panel copies

  Trikie 23:58 18 Feb 05

When using the Smart Panel "Copy" to photocopy text documents (black ink on white paper) the copy has a grey shade where the white should be. Is there any way to overcome this?

Printer is Epson Stylus Photo 890. PC is XP Home.

I kept getting that when using the Twain.
I discovered that if you increase the exposure in manual settings then it seems to eliminate the grey background.

I only increase mine from zero to 2.

Make sure you set to scan in black and white setting NOT colour.

Thanks both. Problem solved.
