Graphics problems

I recently bought an Nvidia 6800 Extreme AGP graphics card and installed no problem. The problem is that after about a half hour of gaming, bits of floor, cieling and other features start appearing as streaks across the screen, making the game un-playable. Is this overheating, or is my card broken ? My mobo is only 4x AGP, 1Gb Ram, 2.0 Pentium4, XP.

firstly have you overclocked the card?

if you have you need to a/ put it back to default or b/ add more cooling.

on the surface this type of thing suggests overheating. make sure the boards fan is clear and not clooged with dirt as this will impair performance.
