I have a Geforce 4 MX440 and would like to upgrade but i am not sure what specifications to look out for, could anybody tell me what are the most important things to look out for when buying a new card and why?

Depends what you want to use it for also what type, PCI or AGP?. Do you want video in/out?. give us a clue.
