Graphics card upgrade

I have new pc which had an onboard graphics card with shared memory. I have now fitted a new GeForce AGP card and wonder if there is anything to alter in the bios to complete the installation?.The card appears to have installed correctly but being cynical I am sure that this is not everything. The only thing that I have noticed is that the option to go into standby mode automatically no longer seems to take effect although the monitor does shut down, whilst this is not crucial it bugs me not knowing why.

Did you disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS? This is not always necessary as some BIOS's will detect the add-in card and disable the onboard graphics automatically. If everything seems to be working OK, you probably don't need to do anything else.

Do also check to see the on board graphics card is disabled as well in the hardwear 'device manager',or you may end up with a conflict(both cards fighting for the same irq a possibility)
