can anyone here tell me the best graphics card for under a hundred quid my pc is a ramshackle.
e machine 220
2.50 ghz
40 gb hard drive
3d agp

Your on this site asking for help, that makes you smart in my opinion. Secondly there's nothing much wrong with your spec I've helped people with a lot less hardware than that.

The nvidia geforce 6600 agp should come within your budget.

This is important.........does your computer use onboard graphics?

Most of the references I can find to the emachine 220 give the spec as 2.5GHz Celeron processor and Intel extreme graphics,which is onboard rather than a seperate graphics card.

I can also not find any reference to an AGP slot on the need to look in the computers manual to see if you should have one.Or better still take the side off the motherboard and check for an AGP slot(usually brown in colour and set slightly further back than the PCI slots...the PCI slots are white) click here

THis is most important because if you don't have an AGP slot available you will have to use a PCI slot graphics card which will not be that much better than your onboard graphics.Eg click here
