graphics card display background fault?

  Zebrapec 15:06 25 Jan 03

This is my first go at somthing like this so sorry for any mistakes.
My desktop display background is a photo in (bmp)?, and fills all my 17 inch screen, and is set at true colour 800x600.
I have fitted a graphics card (Hercules 3D Prophet) for my games and when I adjust my screen up to say 1024 x 768 my background picture goes smaller and I get a border around the edge of the screen.
Is there any way of keeping the picture full size and using my graphics card for better pictures?

it seems that the background picture is 800x600 size ,so when you have the desktop set to 1024 x 768 the picture doesn't fit in, that is adjust the picture size

click start/settings/control panel/dislpay (for win 98

start /control panel/dislpay (for xp)

one in display goto where you can choose the background picture , and change the position to stretch and not centre, then click apply
