i am running a geforce 4 440 go on that is only 64mb, is there a a way of the graphics card taking memory from the ram like some intergrated graphics cards.

You can optimise the Graphics Aperture Size in BIOS to get some benefit, but this isn't the same thing as having more Graphics memory. click here click here

I thought of that as well Gongoozler but wasn't sure if it would actually make any noticable difference whatsoever. To be honest I think the simple answer is no buy another card. But of course I'm often wrong.

You're not wrong in this case - getting another card is the answer.

You can't use system RAM to boost graphics RAM in these circumstances.

if it's a laptop you may not be able to upgrade the graphics card.
