We really need an idea of what you can spend. Personally I think the ATI 9800 Pro is good value under £100 click here will play Farcry and Doom3 with no problems at all. Do bear in mind though you need a reasonably fast PC with enough memory to play these games, theres no point installing a 9800 Pro in something like a Pentium 800 because it'll never play any of these games.

I want to spend less than 100 pounds,i have a computer running xp, amd athlon xp 2000+. 1.67ghz and 256mb of ram.

if you can afford it upgrade to 512mb of ram

You really need to up the RAM to 512Mb too.

Agreed with Totally-braindead and DieSse. For your system, it'd be a waste not upgrading your RAM memory or going with a top of the range graphics card in lieu of CPU/current memory limitations.

As TB suggests, a 9800 Pro would make an ideal choice - another site: HIS ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB DDR IceQ for £82.19 (inc VAT) plus Crucial 256MB DDR PC3200 CAS3 at £18.74 (inc VAT) would put you well on the way to getting some good Frames Per Second out of those games (you should really look at buying 512MBs minimum extra memory ideally if you are only running 256MB).
