Graphic cards - differences

Is there that much of a performance difference between the ATI Radeon X300 128mb and the ATI Radeon X600 256mb cards. The difference in price isn't much...just wondering. Need it for kids games....

i am not sure, but i have an ATI radeon x300 128 (hypermemory) and i have had no problems, and it runs high detailed games well.

If I was given the choice, I would go for the X600 just to future proof myself for a while.

Compare them yourself the X300 and 600 are on here presuming they are PCI Express cards click here

Have taken all your advice...
Could you give me some input into another thread I here

Avoid the X300SE, it's only got a 64 bit memory interface. The X300 is 128 bit. I can only see the X600pro here, but since both the core and memory clock speeds are significantly faster, and the max memory bandwidth is greater, I'd say in very crude terms it would be about 50% better than the X300
