gprs v 3g

whilst i'm here....

I have just got a vodaphone dongle to go wireless, and un usage there are two coloms. 1 is 3g the other is gprs. it is telling me that all my usage is gprs usage , and the 3G is registering as 0 usage.
I am a little confused. Am I connecting to a different network, thus not actually using my 3G per month allocation, or will gprs fill up before it moves to 3G?

gprs, and 3g are in fact mobile internet standards, generally used by mobile phones.

The gprs standard has been superceded by the 3g system.

If you Google gprs, you will find various explanations.
