Google search drop down list with Firefox

Google Answers gave instructions in click here
but this referred to IE. Google Answers are not active any more.

How do I delete the items in the drop down box and/or stop it from remembering my previous searches?

Go to Firefox's Tools>Privacy tab and uncheck the second box in History.

If I remember correctly, Google's drop down box entries retention is down to IE's AutoComplete feature.

Not sure because I use both Firefox and, occasionally, IE.

Thank you: it seems to do the trick. :)
