Google Mis-Direction

I have a Toshiba Satellite P300 Laptop running Vista, AVG 8.5 Internet Security and IE 7. It started playing up some days ago and after trying all kinds of things to get it working, I eventually had to resort to the Toshiba Recovery programme, which wiped the hard drive and reset the computer to the factory settings.

Since then, when I run a search in Google and it returns a list of suggested sites, if I click on a link, it usually initally goes to that site and then re-directs to various directory sites.

This only happens if I try to open a tab, not a new window.

This has only happended since the reinstall. I have looked at the IE settings but cant seem to see anything wrong. Has anyonegot any ideas?

Many thanks

My brother had a similar problem and after much Googling this cured his situation.
