Just noticed that google opens with https. Is this something new, or am I being dull (no need to answer that bit!).

http is unsecured sites

https is for secure sites

Interestingly (or not...) I had ap roblem with gmail recently when it wouldn't let me type new messages or respond to incoming mail. A suggested fix I found (by Googling, natch...) was to use https for going to gmail rather than http - and it worked.

OK, so probably not interesting...

FB - yes, I know that, but I've never seen the Google home page open with https.
