Google earth video requirements ?

In Google earths system requirements it says :

Video RAM: 16 MB

Does anyone know if the way GE works will soon demand dedicated graphics card memory or will it be happy to work with shared on board graphics memory.

As I'm no gamer, I hear high spec graphics cards mentioned as requirements for 3D games, but am wondering if GE is in the '3D' sector, or is it well outside and quite happy with on board graphics?

I had trouble with this programme using on-board graphics. Bought a cheap graphics card from eBay, still need to fit it, to see if it solves the problem. 0ne of the problems was the programme seemed to work initially, then I kept getting error messages that the on-board graphics system was not suitable.

Might be worth considering World Wind from the Nasa website, for testing your on-board card.

Why not download it and see if it is OK ?
An alternative is to go to click here and see how this reacts
