Google Earth Graphics on a GX280

Have just upgraded my computer to an Intel 4800 Dual Core, Vista Home Premium, 4Gb RAM, Nvidia GX280 card running DX10.

Graphics are great, fast and precise running at 1680x1050 resolution - except on Google Earth where previously reported problems of a lattice effect and low resolution (where previously there was high - London for example) are being experienced. It is the same whether running under DX or Open GL.

Anyone know what I'm missing - is there a tweak somewhere in GE to set the resolution?

Anyone? Could this be a DX10 issue?

One suggestion on the GE forums is to clear the cache when Google Earth is on screen:

Tools>Options>Cache tab

Thanks - tried that but still the same. The effect is rather that of a crinkle cut, rather than a straight, chip. If you see what I mean.
