Good free antivirus software???

hi guys currently using AVG antivirus but it has gone all commercial (wants money) on me. Would rather not pay for this kind of software if there are others which are free. Can you recommend any decent antivirus software

AVG is still free, although I had a pop up today, extolling the virtues if the paid version, which has extra facilities.

Avast! is first class and updates itself automatically, providing both written and verbal indication that it has done so.

If you decide to use the excellent freeware version, you can run it initially for 60 days without registering or register immediately - if you do the latter, ensure that you tick the box that it's for personal use, otherwise the e-mail containing the registration code won't be sent...:-)
