Going on to LiveBox

Desktop computer Windows XP working on Orange Modem.
New Laptop Vista - going on to Orange LiveBox

Have just loaded the Vista Windows operating system on to Laptop no problems. Have CD for Livebox info to put into Laptop.

Confused. Orange told me "put the cd in the laptop and follow the instructions".

With the Livebox there is a red cable which will fit into the back of the d/top computer. Do I need to do this or will the desktop still operate from the modem (it is upstairs) and the CD will set the laptop as wireless (laptop will be used downstairs/garden etc)?

I am confused!

Hi Ankermi, i too have orange live box. i was advised to attach red cable to desk top pc whilst setting up but in fact i have left it attached as box is next to my desktop upstairs and i use lappy wireless around the house.
