Ghostly movements - XP Professional

  Suzanne 17:33 12 May 03

I'm running XP professional 2002. Within the last 2 days, Word & Outlook have been behaving strangely.
In Outlook, no matter where I click or whether I'm sending an e-mail, the system reverts back to the 'Outlook:today' page altough I havent requested it.
In Word, the drop down menus open without the mouse moving or it's gone back to the original page I opened, loosing some data - without me touching the mouse or keyboard.
I've checked for viruses - none found
No keys on the keyboard are depressed by mistake
Anyone heard of this happening before, or can make sense of it?
Thanks (I'm very worried)

Try downloading click here it is a free trial, just to check there are no trojans on your system as they are not always picked up by AV programs.

Try a repair of Office.

Start, Control Panel/Add&Remove programs.

Click on Microsoft Office, then on "Click here for support information". Click the Repair button on the box that will pop-up.

Have you tried another mouse, worn/damaged internal cables can create strange effects.
