Getting software for my new laptop

  geek84 11:09 27 Dec 10

Hi Folks

I bought a lap top for my kids for Xmas with no software on it. I would now like to get a copy of e.g. Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010, for the kids to practice on and get more familiar with.

Do you know of any cheap retailers in the UK or any good internet sites where I could get one from?

Thanks in advance for your response.

If they only want to practise now, how about using Open's free and MS Office compatible. click here

If you want to teach the kids to use a computer and tools such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software Open Office (as iscanut suggests ) or IBMs Lotus Symphony click here (also free) are great choices.

If they *need* to Office why not look at the Office Web Apps click here - At least before spending any cash. They are not fully featured. (I have no experience of these so cant say how good -or not- they are)
